Chantelle van Tonder represented Gauteng in the recent Afrikaans Public Speaking competition held in the Cape province. Chantelle is one of the top sixteen Afrikaans Public Speakers in South Africa.

Tholang Nkhatho, a grade 9 pupil at Fourways High finished in second place out of all the speakers in the SACEE Junior Debating League for Gauteng. She is to be congratulated on an outstanding performance. Both Fourways High School’s junior and senior teams finished amongst the top twenty schools in the province.

The under u16A indoor hockey team remained unbeaten in the 2011 High Schools Indoor Hockey League. Julia Pahl, Chelsea van Heerden, Alex Kavanagh, Ashleigh Ballantine, Zanna van Niekerk, Georgina Holyoake, Hayley Kilfoil and Jessica Slack.

Alex Kavanagh was awarded the prize for the top goal scorer of the 2011 High Schools Indoor Hockey League.

Chelsee Pinker - grade 11 (left) was selected for Gauteng Waterpolo in 2008 U14B, 2009 U16B, 2010 U16A and 2011 U19B. Ashleigh Oosthuyse - grade 11 (right) was selected for Gauteng Waterpolo in 2008 U14B, 2010 U19B and 2011 U19B. Since 2009, both players have represented Fourways High School’s 1st Team Waterpolo.

Shannon Fraser was selected for Gauteng Waterpolo every year since she was in grade 8. In 2007, Shannon was selected for u14A, 2008 U15B, 2009 U16A, 2010 U19A and 2011 U19A. She has been playing for Gauteng u19A for the past two years.

Dean Schmidt was selected as an Ambassador, based not only on the World Maths Day 2011, but on the SA Maths Challenge 2011 (South Africa only). He was placed in the top 100 (25) out of 7975 students who took part. Dean came second in the Grade 10 - 12 Section out of 569 students in Grade 10, 11 and 12.
